Public Notice – Hepatitis A Guidelines
Hepatitis A is a vaccine-preventable, communicable disease of the liver caused by the Hepatitis A virus, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It is usually transmitted person-to-person through the fecal-oral route or consumption of contaminated food or water. Proper CLEANING AND DISINFECTION of facilities can help prevent the spread of this disease.
Public Notices – FDA Order Pertaining to Partially Hydrogenated Oils (PHO’s)
As of June 18, 2018, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) order pertaining to foods containing partially hydrogenated oils (PHO’s) will be effective and enforced. Alameda County Health, Environmental Health Department is notifying all the retail food facilities covered by this order of their compliance obligations. Please refer to the link below for more information regarding your responsibilities as a food facility owner/operator to ensure no foods containing PHO’s are offered
