Adult Forensic Behavioral Health (AFBH)

Alameda County Health, Behavioral Health Department (ACBHD) is the embedded behavioral health provider at the Juvenile Justice Center and operates the Guidance Clinic. Our clinical team at the Guidance Clinic provides an array of behavioral health services for youth/young adults detained at the Juvenile Justice Center, which includes the Juvenile Hall, Camp Sweeney, and Secure Trach (SB823)/ Firm Roots.

The Guidance Clinic also works in the Juvenile Justice Transition Center to provide re-entry support, discharge planning, and case management. Our focus is on supporting youth/young adults during detention through individual and group therapy/counseling and ensuring continuity of care to Behavioral Health Department’s contracted community-based providers upon reentry. When appropriate, the Guidance Clinic provides family engagement/support, family therapy, and family case management.
